Candee Skin Resources SHOULD I SHAVE, TRIM, OR PLUCK BEFORE I GET WAXED?

When preparing for a wax, the best thing you can do is nothing at all—no shaving, no plucking, no tweezing. Wax needs enough hair length to grip properly, ideally about ¼ to ½ inch.

Shaving before waxing resets the hair growth cycle and makes waxing less effective. Plucking removes hair from the root, which means there may be nothing left for the wax to remove. Trimming is only recommended if hair is excessively long, and even then, your esthetician can handle it safely.

At Candee Skin, we guide you on exactly how to prepare based on the area being waxed. If trimming is needed, we’ll let you know—no guessing required.

Our estheticians focus on clean removal, comfort, and protecting the skin barrier. Proper prep leads to less irritation, fewer ingrowns, and longer-lasting results.

If you’re ever unsure what to do before your appointment, Candee Skin believes in education first. Just ask—we’ve got you covered.
